Collect bank statements via API

Create an upload link, send it to an applicant, and get every statement read and a webhook when they finish.

Stop chasing statements by email

Asking for statements by email gets you screenshots, the password in a separate message and a reply three days late. A collection is a page on statementbear.com carrying the message you write. The applicant opens the link on any device, drops in PDFs or photos from any bank and presses Send. They need no account, app or bank login.

Each upload is read like any other document and attached to the collection. When the applicant submits, you get collection.submitted with every document id, and an optional redirect sends them back into your own flow. The original files are kept for your retention period, so an underwriter or accountant can still open the PDF itself.

What a collection does

One POST, and the chasing is someone else's page.

A hosted link

POST a name and get back a url to send by email, SMS or inside your app.

Your metadata

Attach your own ids. They come back on the collection and every document in it.

A webhook on submit

collection.submitted fires with the documents, already read.

Links that expire

Open for 1 to 30 days, 14 by default. DELETE closes one at once.

The originals

Download each uploaded file for as long as you keep its document.

Test mode

A test key's collections answer from fixtures and bill nothing.

Create a link

The response carries the url to send.

curl -X POST https://statementbear.com/api/v1/collections \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $STATEMENTBEAR_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "name": "Jane Smith remortgage",
    "message": "Please upload your last three months for every account.",
    "metadata": { "caseId": "C-2291" },
    "redirectUrl": "https://example.com/applications/C-2291",
    "expiresInDays": 14
  }'
