Convert Westpac statements to Excel or CSV

Westpac starts every description with the transaction type, such as Deposit, Withdrawal Online or Payment By Authority To, before it names anybody. Upload the PDF here and get one row per transaction as a CSV, or a full report on where the money went.

How Westpac statements are read

The transaction type comes first

Each description opens with the kind of transaction: Deposit, Withdrawal Online, Withdrawal Mobile, Deposit-Osko Payment, Withdrawal-Osko Payment, Payment By Authority To or Periodical Payment. The amount sits under Debit or Credit with a running Balance beside it. The column sets the direction, and the type stays at the front of the description so you can filter on it.

One transaction, two lines

A Westpac row often continues on a second line with a reference number or the rest of the payer's name, so a copy and paste into Excel turns one transaction into two rows. Those lines are joined back into one description beside its amount.

Parse Westpac statements in your own app

Send the PDF to the StatementBear API and get JSON back: every transaction with its direction and category, the account it belongs to, and a check that the totals reconcile. No bank login, no template per bank. The first 25 documents are free, then $0.49 each.
