How BMO statements are read
Card credits are marked CR
A BMO Mastercard statement prints CR after any amount that is a credit, both on transaction rows and on the balances in the summary. The converter reads the marker, so a refund or a payment comes out as money back rather than as a purchase.
Your own e-Transfers are transfers
An Interac e-Transfer you send prints as INTERAC e-Transfer Sent whether it went to somebody else or to your own account at another bank. Upload that other account's statement as well and the spending report matches the two halves by amount and date, so moving your own money is counted as a transfer.
Parse BMO statements in your own app
Send the PDF to the StatementBear API and get JSON back: every transaction with its direction and category, the account it belongs to, and a check that the totals reconcile. No bank login, no template per bank. The first 25 documents are free, then $0.49 each.
Statements from other banks
Your bank is not listed? Upload it anyway: the converter reads any bank, in any currency. All banks
