How Scotiabank statements are read
Withdrawn and deposited are separate columns
Each amount sits under Amounts withdrawn or Amounts deposited, with a running Balance beside it. The converter reads the column each amount sits in, so every row comes out with the right sign.
The merchant is on the line below
A row opens with the transaction type, such as Point of sale purchase, MB-Transfer to or Misc payment, and the merchant or account it went to is printed on the next line. The converter joins the two lines into one description, so the merchant stays with its amount.
Parse Scotiabank statements in your own app
Send the PDF to the StatementBear API and get JSON back: every transaction with its direction and category, the account it belongs to, and a check that the totals reconcile. No bank login, no template per bank. The first 25 documents are free, then $0.49 each.
Statements from other banks
Your bank is not listed? Upload it anyway: the converter reads any bank, in any currency. All banks
