How CIBC statements are read
Two lines per transaction
A row starts with the transaction type, such as RETAIL PURCHASE, PREAUTHORIZED DEBIT or INTERNET TRANSFER, often followed by a reference number, and the payee is printed on the line below. The converter joins the lines into one description, so the payee stays with its amount.
Withdrawals, deposits and one date per day
Amounts sit under Withdrawals ($) or Deposits ($) beside a running Balance ($), and the date is printed only on the first transaction of each day. The converter reads the column each amount sits in and gives every row its own date.
Parse CIBC statements in your own app
Send the PDF to the StatementBear API and get JSON back: every transaction with its direction and category, the account it belongs to, and a check that the totals reconcile. No bank login, no template per bank. The first 25 documents are free, then $0.49 each.
Statements from other banks
Your bank is not listed? Upload it anyway: the converter reads any bank, in any currency. All banks
