How Capital One statements are read
Several accounts in one file
A combined statement lists a checking account and its savings accounts one after another. Each is read as its own account, which matters: a transfer from checking to savings is printed on both, and merged together it would count as spending and as income at the same time.
Card statements list payments first
Payments, Credits and Adjustments come before Transactions on a Capital One card statement. The export puts everything back in date order with the direction intact.
Parse Capital One statements in your own app
Send the PDF to the StatementBear API and get JSON back: every transaction with its direction and category, the account it belongs to, and a check that the totals reconcile. No bank login, no template per bank. The first 25 documents are free, then $0.49 each.
